Talcum Powder Linked to Ovarian Cancer

Talcum Powder Linked to Ovarian Cancer

Talcum Powder Linked to Ovarian Cancer

For decades, women have been using talcum powder for feminine hygiene. Companies that sell talcum powder, often sold as “baby powder” or “body powder,” have promoted it for this purpose. Numerous studies have shown that talcum powder, when used by women for feminine hygiene purposes, can cause ovarian cancer. Companies that sell talcum powder have known about the link between the product they sell and ovarian cancer for years. However, these companies have refused to adequately warn their customers of the danger that is posed.

Recently, a St. Louis jury awarded $72 million dollars to the family of a woman who died from ovarian cancer. The woman had used talcum powder for years. Another case resulted in a $55 million dollar verdict.

The attorneys of Sauter Sullivan need your help in spreading the word about this dangerous product and the injustice that has been perpetrated by talcum powder manufacturers. Please tell friends, relatives, neighbors, and co-workers about the dangers posed by talcum powder. If you or anyone you know have ever been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and have a history of using talcum powder, please call us immediately at 314-768-6800.

Christopher Geldmacher: Experienced Personal Injury Attorney in St. Louis

Christopher Geldmacher“My mother wanted me to be a doctor,” chuckles Christopher Geldmacher, personal injury attorney and partner at the Sauter Sullivan law firm. “We have lots of people in our family in the medical profession. Mom’s been in nursing for over 40 years. My father wanted me to be a business man. But I ended up going into law because I found it much more exciting, with more action, and I like the idea of helping people solve their problems.”

Chris graduated from the St. Louis University School of Law in 1998, and immediately began his law career. He started at the Neuman Law Firm, and spent a little over 2 years doing almost exclusively workers compensation cases. From there, he landed at the law firm of Reed and Bruhn, where he did more workers compensation cases, and also personal injury work. In January of 2004, he came to Deeba, Sauter and Herd, a “precursor” of the Sauter Sullivan law firm. The head of that firm, Jim Sauter, was nearing retirement, so attorneys Matthew Sauter and Kevin Sullivan formed a new firm, and Chris became of part of what is now the Sauter Sullivan law firm. In 2012, he was made a partner.

This Woman Attorney is a Formidable Advocate for Her Personal Injury Clients

woman attorneyThe Sauter Sullivan Law Firm is both lucky and proud to have female lawyer Carolyn Caruthers on their personal injury legal team. She graduated from Saint Louis University Law School in 2003, and began her career on the defense side of personal injury, representing the interests of insurers. After two years of defending big business against “the little guy and gal”, she became disenchanted with that role. “I just didn’t enjoy it,” says Caruthers of her stint working in insurance defense. “I got no personal satisfaction out of it because no one there cared about the injured person. It was all about money and giving personal injury victims as little or no compensation as possible for their lost wages, medical needs, pain or suffering. After a couple years, I just couldn’t take it any more. I had no dog in the fight.”
