“Back in 2010, I was driving in my pickup truck, ‘my baby’ I called it, on Highway 270 in St. Louis, Missouri, when I was injured in a tractor trailer accident. I was stopped in traffic, when an 18 wheeler rearended me hard and knocked my pickup forward in to the car in front of me. I could see the 18 wheeler coming at me in my rear view mirror and I knew I was in real trouble.

After the tractor-trailer hit me, I was pretty much out of it until I noticed what I thought was smoke, so even though I was in a lot of pain, I struggled to get my seatbelt off, and managed to roll down the window and crawl out. Turns out the smoke was just from the airbags going off, but it sure scared me. I don’t know how long it was before I was able to get out of the car, but the police were right there already and they cited the truck driver for following too close and for vehicle defects because the trucking company did not maintain the tractor-trailer how it was supposed to be maintained. During the crash, I must have hit my head on the back windshield when I got knocked forward, and my back got messed up pretty good. My body hurt all over and I was pretty shaken up. The pain was up and down my back, neck and my head. They put me on a backboard and took me to St. Anthony’s hospital.

I talked to a lawyer my brother’s girlfriend knew, and he said I should talk to Kevin Sullivan at the Sauter Sullivan law firm. Kevin was great right from the start. He took me by the hand and led me through the whole thing. I remember the St. Louis Cardinals were playing to get in to the World Series that year, and Kevin told me there was nothing to worry about. He said ‘just worry about whether the Cards win tonight and get into the world series’. I remember that perfectly, because it made me feel like he was going to take care of me and get me through all this. I want to mention Becky Griffin, too. She is a paralegal at Kevin’s office and she made me feel comfortable too and helped me out with all the medical paperwork involved in the situation. She knew I had pain from the truck crash, and she even hugged me the first time I met her. She was great.

So anyway, Kevin filed a claim against the trucking company’s insurance company and reached a settlement that took care of my medical bills, the therapy, the doctors and the pain management specialist, my back brace and everything. He was able to get them to pay for my lost wages from work and my pain and suffering along the way. It was everything I could have hoped for, and it was fair. I would recommend Kevin Sullivan to anyone who needs a personal injury lawyer. He’s a very personable guy, and I wouldn’t look anywhere else if I ever need a lawyer again.”
